There's Something Fishy About This Soda

Yes, yes, I know... it's been more than a month since THG shook off the cobwebs and got around to posting. And I better have a good excuse, right?

Well, I do. We moved and since full disclosure is all the rage I have to admit that it was only about a two mile move. Regardless, a move is a move and that still means packing and hauling all your stuff (not fun when you have a penchant for books, videotapes, DVDs, CDs, LPs and did I mention books?), dealing with utilities (don't get me started on the phone company's many screwups), cleaning, painting and more.

I'll be back to regular posts, especially now that we're into the American Overating Holidays of Thanksgving, Christmas and New Years. Jones Soda from Seattle has made headlines in the past with their turkey and gravy flavored soda (now available in handy holiday packs at your local Target) but this time they may have gone too far.

Yes, the Seattle-based boutique beverage company is celebrating the region's salmon harvest with, gag, a salmon-flavored soda. Don't get me wrong, I love salmon, but the idea of chugging down a smoky, fishy beverage sets my skin crawling. And I'm not alone... even the company's main man admits he can't stomach the briny brew.

I seriously think the smell of that soda alone would make me puke. I have a difficult time with fish in solid form, anyway.

My brother was gifted one of Jones' holiday soda sets the day before Thanksgiving by a coworker. He was going to try the brussel sprouts one, but thought otherwise once he opened the bottle and smelled it.
