Absolutely. I usually shop at Publix supermarkets and they offer a choice between the store brand and Boar's Head. As you point out, even though it often costs as much as 5 dollars more, I always stick with good ol' Razorback. It's twice as moist, flavorful and RARE than the in-house stuff.
The brand Wegmans sells also has the great name of Snake River Farms, so I'm always reminded of Evel Knieval when I buy it. And you're right, the good stuff is usually wonderfully rare, unlike the frequently overcooked store brand.
Here Here! If you want good food, your gonna have to go for the good stuff, and heaven forbid it costs you a few more bucks.
