Just wanted to take a moment to congratulate my beautiful wife Chris for her recent 2nd Place finish for the chocolate cake she submitted to the Maryland State Fair! This was the first baking competition she had ever entered. In addition, her cake also won the Anna Troyer Award. We're not exactly sure just what that means yet, but from her description of the ribbon it must be good.
Please wish her continued good luck. Last night she whipped back to the Fairgrounds after work and submitted baked goods – including wickedly good Jalepano and Cheddar Cornmeal Muffins – in six additional categories for the second week.

Check out our update from the fair. We went yesterday and Chris took home three more ribbons.
