News Flash! Fast Food Kids Meals Are Not Nutritious!

I know this is going to come as a shock, what with the nation still recovering from Favrewatch 08, but the wet blankets over at The Center for Science in the Public Interest have a news flash... those kids meals you've been buying for your tykes at various fast food joints and sit down chains... um they're not very nutritious.

In fact, the Crystal Light lid my daughter is currently gnawing on is probably healthier for her than a Sonic "Wacky Pack" of grilled cheese, fries and a slushie. Hey, as long as it doesn't come with those annoying guys in their commercials that's cool.

Anyway, I know this comes as a shock that maybe the burger, fries, soda, etc. that come with the Shrek toy or educational state fact flash cards (courtesy of my pals at Chick-Fil-A) may not be the healthiest menu option, but look at it this way... at least you didn't take them to Applebee's, Friday's, Outback Steakhouse, Olive Garden, Red Lobster or IHOP. Why, you ask? Because according to the news release at CSPI, these restaurants "do not disclose nutrition information for most menu items even upon request."

The mind reels!!
