Though 99.99% of all college students, artists and freelancers had no idea who he was, today we all mourn
the death of Momofuku Ando, the inventor of
Cup Noodle. Ando, who died this week at the age of 96, invented instant noodles after World War II. His Cup Noodle product was introduced in 1971 and became a worldwide hit.
Details of his funeral were not released and there was no word on whether he would be buried in a giant styrofoam bowl.
