In the United States, we love laws. Or maybe that should say "we love making laws."
Luckily, some ridiculous laws fall by the wayside and fail to get enforced. For instance, here in Maryland it is illegal to throw a bale of hay from a second story window. In Massachusetts, it's forbidden to put tomatoes in clam chowder (hmmm, that's one I kinda agree with).
