Along with "Where's the Beef?," the Dunkin Donuts catchphrase "Time to make the donuts" may be one of the most memorable restaurant tags of all time. It saddens me to report that actor Michael Vale, who uttered those famous words in a campaign that lasted for 15 years, passed away on Christmas Eve at the age of 83.
Trivial Note: Vale's character in the spots was named "Frank the Baker," a fact which somehow escaped my attention during all those years.
