Jackson was a real character. I've attended his lecture at the Philadelphia Beer Tasting for the past two years. Although it was clear he finding it difficult to communicate with the audience, he was always full of thoughts, stories and reminiscences about beer. I wrote up my thoughts of the event and PhilaFoodie posted them.
Fans of real, flavorful beers owe a lot to Michael Jackson.
Mike: Nice writeup. Never met Jackson and never got to attend any of his lectures. The man did a lot to raise the visability of good beer. I raise a bottle of Pete's Wicked Ale... clink.
