I love the trio of summer holidays -- Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day -- for a variety of reasons. Sure, I get the day off, but as a freelancer that doesn't have the same thrill it once did. When your office is in your house, not going there one day isn't quite the same.
No, it's the thrill of making one of my favorite dopey food combinations... The Dip Dog. Basically, you need two things to make this tacky dish invented at a shore house one summer. You need hot dogs and some Lipton Onion Soup Dip. Cook the dogs as you normally would, slap 'em on a roll and top with dip mix. Voila! You've got dip dogs.

Oh my... yes. That week is a tantilizing blur. I believe I still have negatives of the photos taken that week. Good thing none of us entered the world of politics.
